DNG fragrance for women launched in 1992 was the first fragrance from D&G for women. This scent was clasical, intensive, and feminine. This aroma belongs to the group of aldehyde-floral fragrances.
This scent recomended fos special occasion or evening wear. the compotion was contrast betwen sweet and bitter, feminine and masculine.
The top notes are aromatic-citrusy and include mandarin, bergamot, basil and aldehydes – a rather strong opening. The heart is feminine floral created of jasmine, floral-spicy carnation, sweet orange blossom and lily. Silky sandal wood in the base is complemented with the sweet and balsamic notes of vanilla, Tonka and musk.
A rare and succesfull combination of soapy, kinky and cuddly.
My favorite part is the opening where the aldehydes takes the green basil & coriander for a ride made juicy by the mandarine. Wow! Should I faint I would wake up happy if this was put under my nose.
I too find the heart a floral "soap", but the kick is the carnation and the marigold which makes it lightly spiced and interestingly lively. Some of the carnation prevails and adds personality to the cuddly tonka-vanillic drydown. To my personal taste, the base is a little too sweet - but still its interesting with the musky vibe in this cuddly setting.
Bottom line: a well made sensual and complex modern update of the floral aldehyde. Cold be a forerunner to recent years floral-ambers in some of its qualities, but then the vibe of it's musk and the carnation & herbs makes this one far more intriguing.
Good longetivity, medium but much complimented sillage.
